Teri Hatcher Eyes Alternate Career Behind Camera  3/1/07

Desperate Housewives actress Teri Hatcher is determined to forge an alternative career, because she fears she's becoming too old to last as a screen star.

The 42-year-old released her first book Burnt Toast: And Other Philosophies of Life last year (06) and is also eyeing a move into developing a television show.

She says, "I've just sold my first TV show to a network. It's a comedy and it may never make it to air but it's exciting to be behind the camera.

"I'm trying to build a business that will allow me not to be in front of the camera because, you know, I'm old!"
