Pop singer/actress Hilary Duff has admitted "it wasn't fun" seeing ex boyfriend Joel Madden dating skinny socialite Nicole Richie.

The Lizzie McGuire star, who split from long-term partner last year (06), has penned tracks about the love triangle on her latest album Dignity.

Duff, 19, says, "Last year was really difficult. It's not fun seeing your ex with someone else."
