Walsh Takes Revenge on Simon Cowell With New BBC Talent Show
3/20/07
Irish music mogul Louis Walsh has landed a role on forthcoming BBC
talent show Any Dream Will Do - just weeks after he was sacked as judge
from British TV talent show The X Factor by Simon
Cowell.
Walsh, who sat on the judging panel alongside Cowell and Sharon
Osbourne for the ITV program, recently (10MAR07) accused Cowell of
"stabbing" him in the back for axing him from the hit show.
But Walsh was quickly snapped up by the BBC to work on their own TV
talent show, which features young hopefuls auditioning for the lead role
in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor
Dreamcoat.
A source says, "(Walsh) was really hurt that Simon dropped him
without even speaking to him directly.
"The BBC moved fast to ask if he'd like to help out. He is
delighted to be working for the BBC - and the fact that he'll be going up
against Cowell's show makes it even sweeter."
