Officials Split Over Justin Timberlake Honor
3/23/07
Justin Timberlake has split the Tennessee Legislature over a plan to
officially honor Memphis' favorite son.
State Senator Ophelia Ford has introduced a resolution to pay tribute
to the pop star for his "highly successful music career and for his
meritorious service to the state of Tennessee".
But her plans look set to be scuppered because many of her fellow
politicians don't approve of the singer's sexy image, and can't forget he
was part of Janet Jackson's infamous wardrobe malfunction at the Super
Bowl in 2004.
Senator Raymond Finney is opposed to the tribute, stating publicly,
"It's not something I want my name on."
