Gwen Stefani to Perform on Results Show Next Wednesday, March 28
Britannia ruled the (air)waves on the incredible sixth season of
AMERICAN IDOL when the Top 11 finalists performed songs from the 1960s
British pop invasion on Tuesday’s show, and British music icons Lulu and
Peter Noone performed on last night’s results show. Lulu sang her hit
song “To Sir, with Love,” while Noone, “Herman” of famed ‘60s
band Herman’s Hermits, performed his hit “There’s a Kind of Hush.”
Approximately 30 million votes were cast after Tuesday’s Top 11
performance show, ending the quest of Stephanie Edwards, who received the
fewest votes. Edwards, 19, from Savannah, GA, sang “You Don’t Have to
Say You Love Me.”
So far this season, AMERICAN IDOL 6 is outperforming the same nights
last year by +2% among Total Viewers. AMERICAN IDOL is also up week to
week among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers.
Next week, the competition on television’s hottest show heats up when
the Top 10 finalists (Melinda Doolittle, Gina Glocksen, LaKisha Jones,
Blake Lewis, Sanjaya Malakar, Chris Richardson, Haley Scarnato, Chris
Sligh, Jordin Sparks and Phil Stacey) compete head-to-head again on
Tuesday, March 27 (8:00-9:07 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed). Special guest
artist Gwen Stefani will coach the contestants as they prepare for the
pop-themed performance show. Tune in the following night to see Stefani
perform with Akon and find out who receives enough votes to stay in the
competition and who must go home on the live results show Wednesday, March
28 (9:00-9:30 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.
