Last American Shows Before Platinum-Selling Rock Band Begin Work on New
Album
BURBANK, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- My Chemical Romance, who
traveled the globe last year in support of their platinum-selling album
"The Black Parade," will return to the U.S. in March for a
month-plus tour -- the last series of dates before the band take time off
to write a new album. The tour, which features support from Billy Talent
and Drive By, begins March 28th in Tempe, AZ, and will hit mid-size
theaters across the country. My Chemical Romance made a deliberate
decision to play more intimate venues this time around after spending
months of performing in U.S. arenas on the Projekt Revolution tour with
Linkin Park and Taking Back Sunday over the summer.
"We are really excited about the tour," the band said in a
statement posted on its website. "Our
good friends Billy Talent and Drive By are coming with us. We could not
think of a better tour to go away from 'The Black Parade.' We wanted to
come to these places. We selected them. We wanted to get away from big
shows for a while. When we started this thing, we could feel you guys
right in front of us. It is time for that to happen again."
My Chemical Romance is also putting the finishing touches on an
upcoming CD/DVD titled "The Black Parade is Dead!," which was
filmed over several weeks in October 2007.
Released in October 2006, "The Black Parade" shot to No. 2 on
Billboard's Top 200 album chart, selling more than 240,000 copies its
first week of release. The album was hailed by critics and has spawned
four Modern Rock smash singles, including the latest,
"Teenagers," which hit the No. 1 spot on MTV's "TRL."
