Penelope Cruz Doesn't Believe in Marriage  3/5/08

Actress Penelope Cruz has no plans to get married anytime soon, because she doesn't understand the significance of the union.

The sexy Latina, who is rumored to be dating Oscar winner Javier Bardem, admits she would love to join her best pal Salma Hayek and become a mother in the future - but insists you don't need a wedding to be a happy family.

She says, "I would love to have children some day, but not for now. I don't know if I believe in marriage.

"I believe in family, in love, in children. It depends on the situation but nowadays I am not sure what marriage is for."

Cruz's comments echo fellow Latina Hayek's stance on marriage - the Frida star recently claimed she has "no need" to make her relationship with businessman Francois-Henri Pinault official, saying: "I don't have a need for marriage. You want to grow old with someone, you want to have a partner and to have children - we have all those things. Some people need the commitment.
