Jennifer Lopez videotapes hours of cooking shows - so she can fall asleep to them.

The singer/actress loves watching culinary shows on America's Food Network because she knows if she dozes off there won't be any rude awakenings.

She explains, "I know that if I fall asleep to it that no gunshots are gonna come on or anything like that.

"Sometimes, when you leave the TV on and news at night and everything, you know, weird stuff comes on and you wake from your sleep and you say, 'What's going on?'

"There's never going to anything but cake and stuff on the food channel. I have trouble sleeping."

But the diva's favorite TV shows are US daytime chat show Ellen and house remodeling series Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
