Linkin
Park Opt Out
5/2/05
Rockers Linkin Park have become the latest group to fight for freedom
from their record label after launching a legal battle to scrap their
contract with Warner Music Group.
The group, who have sold 35 million records for the record company, are
seeking immediate release from their contract after objecting to new
legislation laid down by their executives, which they feel won't benefit
artists.
In a statement, the group says, "We feel a responsibility to get
great music to our fans. Unfortunately, we believe that we can't
accomplish that effectively with the current Warner Music."
Meanwhile, frontman Chester Bennington is caught up in a personal legal
battle over custody of his three-year-old son Dravin following the
break-up of his marriage to wife Samantha. |
