Pamela
Anderson Snubs KFC Lunch Date
5/6/05
TV
babe Pamela Anderson has blasted KFC Canada boss John Bitov, after the
chairman invited her to discuss animal rights over lunch. The
animal-loving actress has joined forces with charity People for the
Ethical Treatment of Animals to attack the fast-food giant's treatment of
chickens and has even appeared in a promotional video for them.
After
Anderson called for a boycott of KFC, Bitove claimed the
"Stacked" star was misinformed and invited her to find out the
truth. He offered to talk to her "anywhere, anytime," adding,
"the facts are Stacked against Anderson" and he wanted her to be
"kept fully abreast" of KFC's ethical practices.
Bitove
claims, "We regularly and randomly audit our suppliers to augment
government oversight and better ensure that chickens are treated
ethically." In response Anderson replied, "(Bitove will) be
dining alone. Your attempt to spin your company's involvement in the
crippling and drugging of millions of animals each year is a
turnoff." |
