Paula Abdul Urged to Take Lie Detector Test  5/9/05

The former American Idol contestant who claims to have had an affair with Paula Abdul is urging the talent show judge to take a lie detector test.

Ousted contestant Corey Clark claims he had a sexual relationship with the Straight Up singer, who allegedly coached him during the contest.

And while Abdul brands the claims "lies", Clark recently made an appearance on US TV show The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch, where the host asked him to take a lie detector test to back up his allegations.

While Clark initially agreed, he backed out during the show's commercial break, insisting he'd prefer to take one at the same time as Abdul.

In a special message to the former pop pin-up, he says, "Paula, if you (want) to come down and take a lie detector test with me, then come down here to the show and I will sit down with you at the same time and we will do a lie detector test for Donny to show them what's happening.

"You have my phone number. You can call me.

"If I do it by myself then the critics are like, 'Well she wasn't there to defend herself.'"
