Simon Cowell Started Criticizing From an Early Age  5/11/05

British music mogul Simon Cowell believes he was destined for his role as a judge on TV contest American Idol, because he started to give his opinion on music when he was only five years old.

Cowell, notorious for his no-nonsense criticism of popstar wannabes on his show, admits that he made himself unpopular for his harsh commentary from a very young age.

He says, "The first time I got kicked out of a class, ironically, was a music class at the age of five years old.

"This teacher put together the worst band I've ever heard in my life and I said, thinking I was being helpful, 'We're not very good,' and she threw me out.

"So that was an indication of where my life was gonna go. I always had an opinion and I always felt I was right."
