Britney Spears to Produce And Star in Movie  5/13/05

Pop beauty Britney Spears' Hollywood ambitions have been dealt a major boost - she's signed up to produce and star in a big budget movie.

The Toxic star - who is pregnant with husband Kevin Federline's child - will start work on Trading Paint after she's given birth later this year (05).

The film will focus on the rivalry between two NASCAR motor racing drivers who survive a near-fatal crash. Spears will play the woman who reunites them.

Details of the planned project were exposed at the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France yesterday (12MAY05).

Spears is desperate to prove her acting worth to film-goers and critics after her debut starring role in flop 2002 movie Crossroads failed to excite the notoriously unforgiving industry.
