Kylie's Test Prove Cancer Hasn't Spread  5/18/05

Pop beauty Kylie Minogue is relieved medical tests have shown her cancer has not spread to the rest of her body - which means the singer has a greater chance of survival.

The Spinning Around singer announced she is battling the disease on Tuesday (17MAY05) and began treatment yesterday (18MAY05) at the Roman Catholic Cabrini hospital near her Melbourne, Australia home, in preparation for her surgery later this week (ends20MAY05).

And her management have confirmed the 36-year-old's cancerous growth is confined to her breast.

A spokesman for the star explains, "Kylie is currently undergoing tests at a first class medical facility in Melbourne in preparation for an operation this week by one of Australia's leading surgeons.

"Thankfully, tests so far have confirmed the earlier diagnosis that the cancer appears to be confined to the breast."

Minogue has cancelled the Australian and Asian legs of her Showgirl Tour and her performance at England's Glastonbury Festival to give her time to recover from the treatment.

According to medical experts, the singer will have the cancerous lump surgically removed, followed by a possible course of chemotherapy or radiotherapy, where only the affected area is treated. (
