Renee Zellweger Recalls First Meeting With Kenny Chesney's Relatives  5/26/05

Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger was highly amused when she first met relatives of her new husband Kenny Chesney - because she was asked if she had a job.

The Cold Mountain star, who wed Chesney in a surprise Caribbean ceremony on 9 May (05), started dating the country star at the start of the year, eventually meeting his family for the first time just before she exchanged nuptials with her beau.

And she was highly amused at the reaction she got from an Uncle Butch.

She says, "They're so great. What nice people...

"It was so funny. I went to his house and Uncle Butch walked in and he said, 'Now, who are you supposed to be? Do you have a job, or are you taking the welfare?'

"I told him that I was technically, currently unemployed. So I've been holding out on calling you back, Uncle Butch, but I'll call you tomorrow because today I got a job!"
