Jessica Simpson Slams Divorce Reports  5/25/05

Jessica Simpson has hit out at false reports that she filed for divorce from her husband Nick Lachey yesterday (24MAY05).

The singer, whose two-and-a-half-year marriage to Lachey has been plagued with speculation and rumors, was furious when she learned that she'd apparently decided to ditch her beau.

An E! online report that leaked onto the internet yesterday afternoon had sent celebrity watchers worldwide abuzz with talk of the reality TV couple's apparent split.

But within an hour E! had retracted the erroneous leaked report.

Simpson tells US Weekly, "It is completely false and we would sue them if they hadn't taken it down."

And the singer has a special message to those spreading false rumors about the state of her marriage: "Karma, baby!"

Meanwhile, former Jackass star Bam Margera has been forced to deny reports he's dating Simpson after his parents - the co-stars of his MTV reality TV show Viva La Bam - told a radio show their son had told them he was the pop star's new boyfriend.
