Dominic Monaghan's Girlfriend is a Terrible Driver  5/26/05

Actor Dominic Monaghan is preparing for a constant job as the designated driver whenever he's out on dates with his girlfriend Evangeline Lily - because she's "terrible" behind the wheel.

The Lord of the Rings star Monaghan started dating the sexy actress after meeting her on the set of their hit TV show Lost, but Lilly says her driving was not one of the factors which drew him to her.

Evangeline, who has had eight accidents since getting her driver's license, admits she even crashed in the car park of Ellen DeGeneres' chat show, and once knocked her vehicle into a man who was strolling down the road.

She says, "(Ellen) heard about what a bad driver I was and I did $10,000 damage to her set 'cause she gave me a vehicle on her set. She knew I was a terrible driver and she gave me a driver's test and I destroyed (a lot).

"I've (also) hit a pedestrian. He wasn't hurt. It was like the most beautiful miracle of my entire life. He rolled over the hood and his eyes met mine and I'm like, 'Aaah!' He landed on his feet and kept walking. I tried to give him a ride. He wouldn't talk to me. He was like, 'Get away from me! Just get away from me!'"
