Donald
Trump Becomes Scottish Ambassador
5/1/06
Business tycoon Donald Trump is endorsing his Celtic roots by becoming
an ambassador for Scotland.
The Apprentice star, who is half Scottish and half German, is thrilled
with the honor, which will see him act as a representative for the British
country on behalf of First Minister Jack McConnell.
And, despite opposition from environmentalists, Trump confirms he's
determined to invest in a $525 million golf course outside the Scottish
city of Aberdeen.
He says, "As an international businessman, I've enjoyed success
over the years and I like to think that part of my achievement can be
attributed to my Scottish roots."
McConnell adds, "Donald is a globally recognized figure who can
help us to promote Scotland. I am delighted that he has taken up my
offer."
