Eminem's Wife Files Divorce Response  5/3/06

Eminem's estranged wife Kim Mathers has filed a response to the rap star's divorce request, asking for financial support, attorney fees and joint custody of their daughter.

Mathers' lawyer, Michael J Smith, filed the counter suit last week (25APR06) in Michigan.

Eminem - real name Marshall Mathers - filed divorce papers on 5 April (06), less than three months after the couple re-married.

Mathers is asking Eminem to pay the mortgage, insurance and utility costs for the couple's home outside Detroit, Michigan.

She also is seeking physical custody of their 10-year-old daughter Hailie, along with child support.

Last month (APR06), Mathers told American publication Star she still doesn't understand why her husband had filed for divorce.

Mathers claims she was determined to make their relationship work this time around and had suggested they attend counseling, but Eminem refused.
