Geena Davis: "I'm Still the Chief"  5/5/06

Commander in Chief star Geena Davis is desperately trying to keep her critically acclaimed TV show from being cancelled.

The series was pulled from US network ABC for a second time on Wednesday (03MAY06) during a key ratings period, but Davis isn't going down without a fight.

The 50-year-old star still holds out hope that the series will eventually return saying, "Naturally, I'm not happy about their pulling it off during sweeps.

"But the decision about whether it's going to be renewed will not be made until the 13th of May (06).

"So until further notice, I am still the Commander in Chief."

Even if the show is cancelled, Davis is determined to keep working, joking, "I'll keep showing up to work, even if it's not there anymore."
