Tom Cruise Celebrates Mother's Day With Katie Holmes  5/8/06

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise is so excited about becoming a father, he has spent nearly $1,000 on flowers for girlfriend Katie Holmes to celebrate the birth of their first child.

The Mission Impossible III star wants to make Holmes' first Mother's Day (14MAY06) special - so he organized an expensive bouquet of flowers on behalf of newborn daughter Suri from upscale West Hollywood florists Lily Lodge.

A source tells The Scoop, "He spent $900 on pink peonies in a Limoges vase.

He had the card signed, 'Dear Mommy, Happy first Mother's Day. Lots of Love, Suri and Daddy.'

"I sure hope you get a lot of flowers with nine hundred bucks."
