Millions of American Idol fans voted to decide the fates of Sizzling Sexy Katharine, Dancing Fool Taylor, and the Boy Next Door Elliott. And why Rocker Chris and Lovely Paris were not in the final three, I have no idea that makes any rational sense.

What makes  an “idol” an “idol” can be a mystery. And some mysteries are best left unsolved. That way, we may continue to ponder both the gifts from and the cruelties of the Fates. And sometimes the Fates are slightly deaf. Or maybe they were making a sandwich instead of listening to last night’s performance. Because had the Fates been attentive, there would be no way that Elliott would have been sent home while Taylor remained. Come on, dear and beloved Fates, you can certainly comprehend the difference between talent and veneer. Elliott has talent. Katharine has talent and I think she also has the “it” factor to rocket her to stardom. But Taylor ? No, his talent is like that of a magician. He makes you think something that is not. He is smoke and mirrors, he is jumping jacks, and a court jester. His only talent has been in fooling the Fates and the voters. 

So, trusted Fates, before next week's finale, make an appointment for a hearing exam. Please.
