HALF-HOUR 'KATHY GRIFFIN: MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST' SNEAK PEEK SPECIAL TO
PREMIERE ON YAHOO! TUESDAY, MAY 23
NEW YORK - May 22, 2006 - Talented comic Kathy Griffin wants off the
D-List and is asking for America's help. Timed to coincide with the second
season launch of her series "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the
D-List," Bravo is launching a campaign to help get Kathy off the
D-List once and for all. Kathy supporters are voting online at
offthedlist.com and through a toll free number (1-888-kathydlist), and in
just over a week of voting the results are already proving to be quite
interesting. Griffin has agreed to try and accomplish one of four tasks,
all of which are sure to help her reach A-list status. After tabulating
over 100,000 votes thus far, the breakdown is: 18% of Americans have asked
that Kathy join Scientology; 21% have requested that she adopt a baby in
Namibia; 22% think that giving Ryan Seacrest a mani/pedi would get her off
the D-list; but the overwhelming majority, 38% of all votes tallied, want
Kathy and Dame Judi Dench to spend some meaningful time together and
release a sex tape. Kathy sympathizers have until June 3 to cast their
vote, and the winning option will be announced in the premiere episode of
"Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List" on June 6.
"Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List" debuts its second
season on Tuesday, June 6 (9:00 - 10:00 p.m. ET/PT). In the premiere
episode, Kathy explains that her life over the past year has been crappier
than ever -- she filed for divorce from Matt (but now they're
reconciling), she lost her beloved dog Captain in a car accident and she
was fired from her E! red carpet gig. Kathy tries to turn things around
with a celebrity auction on eBay. She'll raise money for charity and get
some much needed publicity. The item? Spend a weekend with Kathy at her
house.
A special half-hour sneak peek of the premiere of "Kathy Griffin:
My Life on the D-List" will be presented exclusively on Yahoo!
Tuesday, May 23.
The action-packed new season of "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the
D-List" will unfold over six one-hour episodes airing Tuesdays at
9:00 p.m. on Bravo. This season Kathy endures hellish moments with her
personal trainer and nutritionist, hires a dog trainer in an attempt to
get Chance and Pom-Pom under control, attends a gay prom, baby sits for
her niece and nephew, takes her parents away for a luxury weekend, goes
ice skating with Olympian Johnny Weir, and tours the Red States.
One of the more exciting moments during the season is when Kathy
travels to Iraq to entertain the troops at various camps. She wins
soldiers over at every stop with her no-holds-barred humor, and is won
over herself by the courageous young men and women who welcome her with
open arms. As if suddenly vaulted to the A-List, Kathy is even granted her
own gun-toting escorts for the journey. Kathy also encounters hard-working
Army dogs in Kuwait, who were noticeably better trained than Pom-Pom.
Six, one-hour episodes of "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the
D-List" were produced for Bravo by Picture This Productions. The
series is executive produced by Marcia Mule, Brian Scott, Lisa M. Tucker,
and Kathy Griffin.
