X-Men star Hugh Jackman is hooked on a reality show about a nanny, and watches it religiously for tips on how to raise his own kids.

The actor and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness are obsessed with Supernanny and its star, child expert Jo Frost.

Jackman - who has a six-year-old son Oscar and ten-month-old daughter Ava - reveals, "I love Supernanny. That show is amazing. I'm totally addicted to it.

"I've been taking all her advice and it really works. She is so good, especially with the sleeping thing, when you get a kid who is about nine months and you start to put them in the cot. You don't look at the child, you look down. Every two minutes you move away to the door. So the kid is crying because they're p**sed off that you're not holding them, but they're not scared - it removes their fear.

"So within three months of doing this my daughter sleeps. I put her down and she sleeps and wakes up happy, thanks to Supernanny."
