Ice
Cube Joins Rap Attack on Oprah Winfrey 5/27/06
Ice Cube has joined Ludacris and 50 Cent as the latest rapper to attack
US media mogul Oprah Winfrey for her apparent dislike for hip-hop stars.
Ludacris publicly criticized Winfrey for the way she treated him when
he appeared on her talk show as a member of the cast of Oscar-winning
movie CRASH, and the TV host has since become a target for rap's top
stars.
Ludacris, real name Chris Bridges, was stunned when Winfrey took time
out of the cast interview to criticize him for his lyrics and then
reportedly spent time with the rapper after the show trying to show him
the error of his ways.
And now rapper-turned-movie mogul Ice Cube has opened fire on Winfrey,
accusing her of refusing to interview him when he was trying to promote
hit comedy Barbershop.
He tells men's magazine FHM, "I've been involved in three projects
pitched to her, but I've never been asked to participate.
"For Barbershop, she had Cedric the Entertainer and Eve on, but I
wasn't invited. Maybe she's got a problem with hip-hop.
"She's had damn rapists, child molesters and lying authors (JAMES
FREY) on her show. And, if I'm not a rags-to-riches story for her, who
is?"
