Marcia Cross Bite Scene Cut  5/27/06

A pivotal scene in the Desperate Housewives season finale, in which actress Marcia Cross bit an asylum orderly character, was cut after outraged producers were left speechless by her act of violence.

The red-headed star thought it would be a giggle if her batty character Bree Van De Kamp took a bite out of the burly actor's nose - but show creators were not laughing.

She says, "At the end of that scene... the way we shot it was when he came in really close I lunged up and bit his nose, which they cut. Maybe they thought it was just a little bit too vicious."

The season finale aired in America last weekend (21MAY06).
