Big Brother Star is Royal Cousin  5/31/06

A British Big Brother contestant who walked off the show yesterday (30MAY06) has been revealed to be a cousin of royals Prince William and Prince Harry.

George Askew quit Big Brother after just 12 days inside the house, claiming he was concerned about the fame and notoriety his appearance had exposed him to.

During his time on the show, Askew revealed to other housemates he is an acquaintance of the two heirs - but a British newspaper has discovered he is related to them through ancestral connections to both Prince Charles and the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

He is their fifth cousin via landowner John Bulteel - an ancestor of the late princess - and sixth cousins via the third Duke Of Portland, an ancestor of Prince Charles.

The royal family has refused to confirm Askew's royal links.
