NBC SEES ‘MEDIUM’ IN ITS FUTURE FOR 2007-08 WITH EARLY SERIES

BURBANK – NBC has issued an early renewal for its acclaimed drama
"Medium" (Wednesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET) for a fourth season in
2007-08, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, NBC
Entertainment.
"'Medium' is a quality show with an outstanding star that has
always delivered a very loyal audience," said Reilly. "We are
pleased to know that we can look forward to more of its unique
storytelling next year under executive producer Glenn Gordon Caron's
superb creative vision."
This season, "Medium" is averaging a 3.0 rating, 8 share
among adults 18-49 and 8.5 million viewers overall. Airing in the
Wednesday 10-11 p.m. (ET) slot, "Medium" is building by 37
percent on its 18-49 lead-in from "Crossing Jordan."
From acclaimed executive producer, creator and director Glenn Gordon
Caron ("Moonlighting") comes "Medium," a chilling
drama series inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison
DuBois. Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette ("Stigmata,"
"Flirting with Disaster") stars as a young wife and mother who,
since childhood, has been struggling to make sense of her dreams and
visions of dead people. Arquette received the Emmy in the Outstanding Lead
Actress in a Drama Series category after the telecast of the initial 16
episodes of the critically acclaimed series. She has also nominated for a
Golden Globe and Screen Actor's Guild award in 2007 for her performances
on the show.
As a part-time consultant to the district attorney's office, Allison
(Arquette) uses her psychic abilities, which consist of talking to dead
people as well as seeing the future in her dreams to solve violent and
horrifying crimes that have remained mysteries to her boss D.A. Devalos
(Miguel Sandoval, "The Division") and others within the criminal
justice system. Jake Weber ("Meet Joe Black") stars as Allison's
supportive husband Joe, and Sofia Vassilieva ("Eloise at the
Plaza") and Maria Lark star as Ariel and Bridget, the two eldest
Dubois children. David Cubitt ("10.5") also stars as Detective
Lee Scanlon and Miranda and Madison Carabello share the role of youngest
daughter, Marie Dubois.
Caron is creator and executive producer. Kelsey Grammer
("Girlfriends"), Steve Stark, Rene Echevarria and Oscar winner
Ronald L. Schwary ("Ordinary People") are executive producers.
"Medium" is produced by CBS Paramount Network Television,
Picturemaker Productions, Inc. in association with and Grammnet
Productions.
