Mandy Moore Risks More Pain by Ditching Ankle Cast  5/8/07

Pop star Mandy Moore ignored doctor's advice so she could wear "cute shoes" on MTV show Total Request Live yesterday (07May07).

The singer/actress fractured her ankle in a freak boating accident in March

(07) and has been hobbling around in a cast - but she wanted to look cool for her TV appearance, so she ditched her support and donned her favorite blue high heels.

She said, "I'm just pretending for the sake of trying to wear cute shoes that it's not... I hope the doctor's not watching.

"I've been walking around in a really cumbersome black walking cast; I've been wearing it for like six weeks and I guess I'm kind of over it now."

Moore admits she did more damage to her ankle because she walked around for a month without realizing it was fractured.

She added, "I probably did myself a little more damage because it didn't really hurt that bad."
