Ugly Betty Star Mistaken for a Prostitute  5/9/07

Ugly Betty star Ashley Jensen (Christina McKinney on the show) was recently mistaken for a prostitute in Los Angeles, because she chose to shun the city's car culture and walk to her destination instead.

Having lived in Scotland and London before moving Stateside to star in the hit comedy, Jensen is used to treading the pavement as a form of transport.

The 37-year-old says, "I'm used to walking everywhere but you just can't do that in LA - everyone drives.

"On one occasion when I did stride out, a guy in a Porsche pulled up. I was quite flattered - until I discovered he thought I was a hooker."
