Laguna Beach Star Charged In Seattle Incident  5/12/07

US reality TV star Jason Wahler has been charged with assault, criminal trespass and underage drinking - one day after it was announced he has entered a rehab facility to treat an undisclosed addiction.

The charges relate to an incident in Seattle, Washington last month (Apr07) when the 20-year-old allegedly hurled racial and homophobic abuse at police while being arrested for punching a hotel security guard.

Prosecutors want Wahler to spend 10 days in jail, pay a $4,500 fine and to receive chemical dependency treatment, reports People.com.

However, if Wahler is found guilty he could land more jail time if found in violation of probation - because of an assault in Los Angeles in September last year (06).

The Laguna Beach regular had been due to start a 60 day jail sentence for that assault case last week (ends04May07), but a Los Angeles judge delayed the sentence to allow Wahler to go to rehab.

Wahler also stands accused of beating up a truck driver in LA in March (07).
