Russell Crowe's Fears Over Scott Movie
5/19/08
Russell Crowe is desperate to start filming his new movie Nottingham -
but fears it will be delayed if a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) strike gets
the go-ahead.
The actor is teaming up with his favored director Sir Ridley Scott for
the upcoming picture, but it has not been given a date for filming
because of a looming SAG strike.
He says, "Given that there is still the possibility of a SAG strike, it
is not certain when Nottingham would begin. But Sir Ridley is planning
on completing it this year." In the movie, Crowe plays the Sheriff of
Nottingham in a different take on the classic tale of Robin Hood.
The union is currently locked in negotiations with Hollywood bosses in a
dispute over pay and conditions. If the talks fail to be resolved, the
film and TV industry could be crippled by walkouts - much like last
year's (07) writers strike.icle content Article content Article content Article content Article
