Madonna Enlists Mike Tyson For Malawi Campaign 5/21/08

Pop superstar Madonna has enlisted the support of former boxing champion Mike Tyson in her campaign to help the impoverished nation of Malawi.

The Holiday hitmaker has become emotionally attached to the country after adopting tot David Banda from an orphanage there in 2006. And the star is keen to help raise money to improve standards of living there and heighten awareness of diseases including AIDS.

Madonna has now reportedly approached Tyson to help spearhead her Raising Malawi charity effort after the pair met at the Cannes International Film Festival earlier this week (begs19May08).

A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "Madonna thinks Mike is amazing and he has promised to fly with her to Malawi in late summer to promote awareness of children with AIDS there. "Mike is eager to show he's turned over a new leaf and thinks this is the perfect way to do it."
