Marriage Speculation Drove Jessica Simpson to Therapy  11/2/05

Jessica Simpson was so distressed by the relentless gossip about the state of her marriage to Nick Lachey, she ended up going to see a therapist.

For much of the year, reports have persistently circulated that the pop couple's three-year union is on the rocks, which the stars have vehemently denied.

And in an interview with Teen People, Simpson, who poses on the cover of the magazine's latest issue with her younger sister Ashlee, says, "I respect knowledge of the psyche. I would be a therapist if I weren't an entertainer.

"Hopefully mine and Nick's story will continue for the rest of our lives, like what we vowed, through sickness and in health."
