Tyra Banks to Retire  11/5/05

Supermodel Tyra Banks is quitting the fashion business to concentrate on her new career as a talk show host and TV producer.

The American beauty let it slip that she was planning to give up the catwalk for good at the end of the year (05) on a recent taping of her daily show The Tyra Banks Show.

Banks, who also produces and hosts top reality series America's Next Top Model, told viewers, "I'm retiring this year. It's time for new blood."

That could mean her upcoming projects for lingerie firm Victoria's Secret, including 2006 calendars and a televised fashion show, will be her last for the firm.
