INXS 'Switched On' Tour Tickets Sell Quickly; 7 More Concerts Added, Tickets
on sale Nov. 11 weekend for Southern swing and 2nd NYC date
NEW YORK, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- With a flurry of multiple sell outs
for its "Switched On" tour, INXS is adding six more dates in the
South -- plus a second night in New York City -- to the first leg of their
2006 North American tour.
Tour producers Metropolitan Talent Presents announced today that
tickets go on sale the weekend of November 11 for the following INXS
concerts: Norfolk (2/20), Charlotte (2/21), Atlanta (2/22), Jacksonville
(2/24), Clearwater (2/25), Boca Raton (2/26) and New York (2/13).
Tickets for multi-platinum rock band INXS sold very quickly with some
cities selling out within hours. Sales in Toronto were so brisk that a
second show was immediately added which also sold out. Altogether, 16 of
the first 22 shows on the tour are sold out. (Tickets
for sold out shows may be available here) Up-to-date tour information
will be posted at http://www.INXS.com.
The first leg of INXS' "Switched On" tour is now finalized,
with 31 performances in 28 cities, beginning January 18, 2006 in
Vancouver. This will be the group's first tour with new lead singer J.D.
Fortune. Marty Casey, the Rock Star: INXS runner-up, and his band the
Lovehammers will open on all dates.
As the band puts the finishing touches on their Epic Records debut,
SWITCH, the album's first single, "Pretty Vegas," exploded on
radio stations across the country. It entered the Billboard's Top 100 at
#37, making it the highest-charting single debut of the band's career. The
song was released exclusively to iTunes and rocketed to #4 on the Top
Singles and #2 Rock Singles charts. The video is currently airing on VH1.
The remarkable response from fans to the upcoming tour is a great
launch and should see the band return for a 2nd leg of North American
dates this spring. Over the course of their 25-year-career, INXS has sold
more than 30 million albums worldwide and performed over 4,000 live shows
for more than 25 million people in 50 countries.
