Country star Kenny Chesney is desperate for the media frenzy surrounding his four-month marriage to Renee Zellweger to die down, because it is obscuring his success as a musician.

The singer, who is about to begin touring, wishes the press would focus on his creative talent rather than his personal life.

He says, "I'm no dummy. I know that with a certain amount of celebrity comes a certain amount of stuff.

"It's definitely changed my life, no doubt about it, and I don't have to like it.

"I've worked very hard and I've gotten very lucky. And if you do that, and you don't rely on smoke and mirrors, nobody can take it away from you."
