Harry
Potter and the Goblet of Fire Hits Internet Before Theatres
11/21/05
Outraged
Harry Potter film
bosses have launched an investigation into how the latest movie The Goblet
of Fire was released on the internet before it hit British cinemas.
Thousands of fans have been able to download the $216 million film from
the internet for free - days before its official release last Friday
(18NOV05).
In
a bid to combat escalating copyright violation, ushers at certain cinemas
have been given night-vision goggles which will enable them to spot
viewers trying to record pirate copies of the film with hidden video
cameras.
A
source says, "The situation is way out of control. The fact that the
latest Harry Potter film has been leaked onto the web is a huge blow for
everyone concerned. "The public should be worried too because any of
these downloads which make it onto pirate DVDs, help to fund organized
crime like drugs and prostitution."
