MACKENZIE ALLEN ASSUMES THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES --
AGAINST THE WISHES OF THE PARTY IN POWER -- ON AN ENCORE TELECAST OF THE
PREMIERE OF "COMMANDER IN CHIEF," TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6 ON ABC
"Pilot" - While at an official ceremony, Mackenzie Allen (Geena
Davis), the 45-year-old Independent Vice President of the United States,
is informed that the President is about to undergo emergency brain surgery
for a tumor. She is further stunned when she's told that, in the event the
President does not recover, the party doesn't want her to succeed him, but
rather to step down in order to allow the Speaker of the House, Nathan
Templeton (Donald Sutherland), to assume the post. Despite having this
confirmed by the dying President himself and intense pressures from all
around her - not least the Speaker -- Mackenzie decides to forge ahead and
assume the office, opening an almost unimaginable new chapter in her own
life and in the lives of her husband, Rod Calloway (Kyle Secor), and their
children, Rebecca, Horace and Amy. "Commander In Chief" airs
