Madonna Spotted David on TV  11/2/06

Madonna picked out adopted baby David after spotting him in footage for a documentary she commissioned.

The singer arranged for a film to be made, to chart the situation in the African nation Malawi, after husband Guy Ritchie visited there earlier this year (06).

While poring over the footage, the Material Girl fell for the one-year-old.

She says, "I commissioned someone to go there and make a documentary about the situation in Malawi.

"Watching the footage over and over gave me the opportunity to get to know the children. David was one of them.

But she insists she didn't simply pick him out - everything fell into place when she finally met the tot.

She says, "I knew there were no guarantees (about the adoption)."
