Anna Nicole Smith Back in Hospital With Lung Problems  11/2/06

Anna Nicole Smith has been hospitalized in the Bahamas as medics attempt to drain fluid from her lungs.

The former model was admitted to hospital on Tuesday (31OCT06) after experiencing pain in her chest.

Her partner and lawyer Howard K Stern tells US new show Entertainment Tonight, "Anna Nicole was experiencing severe pain in her right chest and back.

"A CT scan at the hospital revealed that she has pneumonia, with a significant amount of fluid in the area surrounding the lower lobe of her right lung, which caused her lung to partially collapse.

"A procedure was performed on Tuesday to drain the fluid and open up her lung, and antibiotics are currently being administered.

"We are hoping for a quick recovery, but, as of now, Anna Nicole is still experiencing a significant amount of discomfort."

Smith conducted an exclusive interview with the news show, in which she discussed the birth of her new baby Dannielynn and the tragic death of her 20-year-old son Daniel, over the weekend (28-29OCT06).
