Nicole Richie was forced to seek emergency medical treatment for her pet cat on Monday night (30NOV06) after it plunged ten stories from a balcony.

The Simple Life star, who has been seeking treatment for her dramatic weight loss, was photographed rushing her feline friend to an animal hospital near her high-rise home.

According to reports, the cat survived the frightening fall and is recovering.

Richie also has two dogs, Honey Child and Foxy Cleopatra, who were able to join the socialite while she is seeking treatment at a Southern California facility.
