Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Praised by Daniel Pearl's Father  11/20/06

The father of murdered journalist Daniel Pearl has praised Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for raising awareness of radical Islam and terrorism.

Judea Pearl's son Daniel, 38, was a correspondent for the Wall Street Journal when he was captured and beheaded by Islamic extremists in Pakistan in 2002.

A film called The Mighty Heart, based on a book by Daniel's wife Marianne, is currently being made by Pitt's production company in India and stars Jolie.

Judea Pearl says, "It's very fashionable for celebrities to go to Africa and dance round the various causes - AIDS, malaria, poverty. But none of them have been looking at the real threat to our civilization - Islamic hatred and terrorism.

"Angie and Brad have decided to attend to the real threat and one hopes they will start a new trend, with other celebrities following them."
