Jamie Foxx Sees Biological Mother for the First Time in Years at AMAs  11/22/06

Jamie Foxx had a double surprise at last night's (21NOV06) 34th Annual American Music Awards in Los Angeles when he picked up an award and saw his biological mother for the first time in several years.

The actor/singer was named Favorite Male Soul/R&B Artist and dedicated his performance of Wish U Were Here to his parent, who had him adopted when he was only seven months old.

The 38-year-old said, "I dedicate this song, y'all, to my mother in the audience, and everyone. I hope you allow me to be myself."

He added backstage, "My biological mother didn't raise me. A lady adopted my biological mother and then adopted me at seven months.

"It feels good to have her see me doing something great."
