Pamela Anderson Tackles POM  11/28/06

Animal activist Pamela Anderson is back on the campaign trail - launching her latest public fight on the same day as announcing her plans to divorce husband Kid Rock.

The former Baywatch babe launched a major People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) boycott against POM Juice yesterday (27NOV06), calling for animal lovers and fans to unite and let the company executives know they're upset with their animal tests.

Anderson has posted a graphic video on her website and plans to continue her boycott bid until the company gives its written assurance that it has permanently stopped all tests on animals.

A PETA spokesman says, "We discovered that in one experiment that POM funded, mother mice were fed POM juice and their week-old babies were locked in a chamber with almost no oxygen for 45 minutes, causing severe brain damage.

"They were then killed so that experimenters could dissect their brains. In another experiment, rabbits' arteries were severed to make them impotent. The rabbits were then fed POM juice to study erectile dysfunction."

Sickened Anderson urges fans to stop buying the drink and opt for rival fruit juice Naked.

She adds, "Considering the cruel experiments on animals that POM is funding, I'm calling on everyone to get Naked instead."
