Pamela Anderson has begged the press for peace in the run-up to her divorce from Kid Rock over fears her children will suffer in the media glare.

The actress/model and the rocker both filed for dissolution of marriage at the beginning of the week (27NOV06) after less than four months together.

But she's terrified the high-profile split will spawn rumors which could affect her children Dylan, eight, and Brandon, ten, from her previous marriage to rocker Tommy Lee, and Kid Rock's son Robert, 13.

The 39-year-old writes on her website, "I'm very concerned with the press on mine and Bob's (Kid Rock's) divorce.

"I know I have people who want to defend me or people who want to defend Bob, but my children can read, and I'd like to resolve this amicably - not fuelling fires - and with dignity.

"Truth is, Bob is great in many ways - we just don't belong together. We mutually agree.

"I love my children, he loves his son. We both have a wonderful family and friends as support going through this time."

Anderson, who is represented by celebrity divorce lawyer Neal Hersh, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
