Natalie Portman is set to make her feature film directorial debut by
taking charge of a planned film adaptation of Israeli novelist Amos Oz's a
Tale of Love & Darkness.
The actress, who was born in Israel, bought the rights to the movie
through her Handsomecharlie Films company - and the venture is likely to
be her first in a new two-year production deal with Participant
Productions.
Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal's writer mother Naomi Foner is in
negotiations to pen the screenplay for A Tale of Love & Darkness.
