Britney Spears has denied allegations of substance abuse after testing
positive in a court-ordered drug test, insisting the results only show the
medication she has been prescribed by doctors.
The troubled pop star, 25, must undergo mandatory drug and alcohol
tests as part of an earlier court order relating to her custody battle
with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
But Spears has been accused of skipping eight of out 14 requests in
recent weeks, and was recently (08Nov07) chastised by Los Angeles Superior
Court Commissioner Scott Gordon for not making herself readily available
for the tests.
And there's more bad news for Spears, after website TMZ claimed one of
her test results came back positive last week (ends09Nov07).
But pals insist Spears is innocent of any illegal drug allegations.
A source close to the star says, "The only thing that comes on the
results are the prescriptions, that the court doctor prescribed.
"There has been no illegal drugs or even alcohol in any of the
test results."
