R&B superstar Alcia Keys snubbed her own album launch party on Tuesday
night (13Nov07) - because the New York bash was "too rough".
The Fallin' hit maker left organizers of Manhattan nightspot Pacha
fuming after failing to show at the party held in honor of her latest
release, As I Am.
But her manager Jeanine McLean says Keys had good reason to snub the
event, because the trendy venue was "a mess".
She tells New York gossip column PageSix, "She was going to go
through, have a drink and celebrate as a favor to the club. But when she
got there, there was no security and the crowd was rough. She sat there
waiting for them to get it together for an hour."
However, a source tells the New York Post's gossip column PageSix that
Keys didn't show because "she wasn't getting paid."
A representative for Pacha says, "We had an ample security team
onsite and had reserved an entire area for her."
