Making
the Band Choreographer Won't Work With Diddy's Ego
11/23/07
Making the Band choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson has ruled out ever
working with hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs again, because his ego makes
it difficult to maintain a professional relationship.
Gibson worked with Combs throughout the hit U.S. reality series, but
was sacked from the TV program earlier this year (May07) after an alleged
altercation with the rapper at a New York venue.
She claims a heated argument broke out between herself and Combs, which
resulted in fellow Making The Band judge Michael Bivins restraining her
while the Come To Me hit maker threatened her with a chair.
Gibson filed a formal complaint against Combs following her firing for
breach of contract, but no ruling has been made on the lawsuit to date.
And Gibson claims the problems on the set of Making The Band all
stemmed from Combs not being able to grasp the extent of the dance work
the contestants had to put in.
She tells New York Magazine, "The problem was definitely P. Diddy
and working with his ego.
"It was really him that gave me trouble because he couldn't really
understand that at certain points (the Making The Band process) was
difficult and hostile.
I mean, the girls were amazing and the boys were not the problem."
